授業の到達目標
Through this course, students will become familiar with English language newspapers and the particular language that is used by them. They will gain a thorough knowledge of vocabulary and become confident in understanding a variety of articles.

授業の内容
The course gives students the ability to read and understand the news as well as talk about it. Short and longer authentic texts (some modified) will be used to look at a wide range of aspects of newspaper English. The themes covered will follow the class plan below, although this may change to give the class the flexibility to work on texts that deal with up-to-date major news stories. As well as the study of texts, important issues such as types of newspapers and types of news are also covered. There is also an emphasis on vocabulary building with weekly tests and exercises based on texts presented each week.
